Michael P.

Michael P. is known for his attention to and understanding of architectural details, purposeful colors and contemporary styling. He artfully combines his interior design background with more than 20 years of visual merchandising experience in the luxury market. Michael P’s training in architecture gives him the capability of designing an interior that perfectly compliments the grandeur of a building while implementing modern day design trends.

Michael P. received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from Harvard and the University of Buffalo. The year 2005 was marked by a few milestones in Michael’s professional life. He started michael P. design and he received over the top reviews for his work at the Junior League Show House. In August of the same year, Michael P. and David Brugh opened room, a furniture boutique offering classic contemporary styling to the Buffalo market.

Having built a loyal following over the intervening years, room has expanded with the opening of BABYroom, and our newest addition sprout. Michael P. specializes in residential and commercial interiors and has earned a reputation for his attention to architectural detail with a touch of whimsy. From loft living, to traditional Victorians, Michael P. possesses a fresh approach to modern style. His commercial projects include: The Hotel Lafayette, Hive Lifespan Center, Joe’s Deli, Allentown Pediatrics, Mister Pizza, and Skate Park and Pavilions, in Pescadaro, Mexico. Recently, Michael P. was selected as one of the “Top 100 Interior Designers” by Design Bureau Magazine. Michael P. is also known for his work as design producer on HGTV’s American Rehab Buffalo and project manager/designer for House Hunters Renovation Buffalo.

Raelyn graduated with her bachelor’s in interior design from SUNY Buffalo State. During her college career, she was award the Illuminating Engineering Society scholarship for her comprehensive lighting design in a commercial space and graduated top of her class with the Dean’s Award of Excellence for extracurricular design work in the field. Raelyn joined the room team in 2011, and has grown into her role with micheal P. design as an associate designer in 2013 and moved to senior designer in 2017. Her strengths include working with patterns and bold colors to create a modern yet comfortable setting. Raelyn has a knack for finishing touches. She has worked on a variety of projects from residential renovations, to commercial space and prop styling.

Sandra earned her bachelor’s degree in interior architecture from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was also a part of the first ever “Urban Studio” for UNC Greensboro, where students and faculty designed and built a home from the ground up for an entire year. During her junior year, Sandra spent some time at the Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy, studying interior design. During her exciting college career Sandra was lucky enough to be our “first” room design intern in 2006. Sandra has worked on many commercial and residential projects and was a drafter and project manager for Boston Valley Terra Cotta for 3 years. She rejoined the michael P. design team in 2013 and has an clean eclectic style. From residential design to special planning, her strengths are in finish selections and project managing.
